Permanent Membership Permanent Member Elegibility: Permanent membership is by invitation, usually after the candidate has served two years as an Adjunct member. For the Adjunct member to become a Permanent member, a show of 5 workswill be presented for consideration, evaluation and rating (privately and individually) by the Permanent members. This evaluation ballot will be used by the Membership Chair to rank the order of the applicants during the weeks in January preceding the January membership meeting. The show is put up right after Christmas and is up until just following the membership meeting. At the membership meeting, a three-quarters affirmative vote is required for acceptance into Permanent membership. The Membership Chair will make every effort to notify applicants at the end of the meeting, or within 24 hours. All new permanent members will meet with the Director to receive their key, shelf assignment, by-laws and membership guidelines. For details about Adjunct membership, please see Membership Information. Condition: Cost: Benefit: Members begin with three shelves. A member whose production falls below 10,000 cubic inches in a year loses one shelf. If the next year's production is still under 10,000 cubic inches, the member loses a second shelf. A member always has at least one shelf. A member who has fewer than three shelves gains an additinal shelf when production rises above 10,000 cubic inches per year. The limit is three shelves. Exception: a resident who becomes a member receives three shelves unless the resident's production was below 10,000 cubic inches a year. Other Options for Permanent Members: Associate Member Eligibility: Permanent members in good standing may elect Associate Membership upon request in writing to the Board. Condition: Upon notification to the Board, Associate Members may use the facility for a maximum of 2 months each year. members will have a key to the building while active, but no guaranteed shelf space and no sale participation. Associate Members are relieved of the work/points system with pots fired being charged at the over-limit pots rate. Associate Members may attend meetings without vote, may serve on committees, and may attend other Guild functions by invitation. Associate Members may resume active, permanent membership upon written application and acceptance of said application by vote of the membership. Associate Members returning to active membership have one shelf. Cost: $16 annual dues. When active, an additional $25 per month or 1/12 regular membership annual dues per month, whichever is greater. Benefits: Membership lists and minutes of general meetings will be mailed. Emeritus Member Elegibility: The Emeritus membership is a category of membership that is only open to full members, upon notification to the secretary. The Emeritus membership is nonreversible. Condition: These are members who would still like to make some pots, but do not have the desire or ability to do all of the physical work necessary to be in the Full membership category. Cost: Emeritus members pay only one-quarter dues, currently $89.50. Benefits:
Inactive Member Elegibility: Permanent Members in good standing may elect "Inactive" status for a period of six months to two years upon written notification to the Board. Extension beyond two years may be granted by vote of the majority of the membership present and voting at a general meeting. Condition: Inactive Members may retain one shelf and a key to the facility. Upon notification to the Board, Inactive Members may use the facility for a maximum of two months each year. During this period members are relieved of the work/points system and may fire pots using points eraned prior to inactive status or pay the over-limit pots rate. No sale participation is allowed. Inactive Members may attend Guild meetings but may volte only on matters pertaining to long-term policy and finances. Inactive Members may serve on committees, and may attend other Guild functions by invitation. Permanent membership may be resumed after giving written notice to the secretary amounting to 30 days for each year of inactive membership. An Inactive Member who returns to active membership receives shelves commensurate with the production when the leave was granted. Cost: One half of the regular membership annual dues. Should member elect to take advantage of the 2-month potting acitivity, an additional $25/month or 1/12 annual dues, per month, whichever is greater.
