Ann Arbor Potters Guild
Student Information
2011-2012 Schedule
We offer
evening classes to the adult community, taught by experienced professional
artists. Our goal is to create a stimulating learning environment
for those people who share our love of artistic expression in clay.
Schedule
Semesters begin in September and January and last 14 weeks. Classes
are scheduled for one evening per week for three hours (7:00-10:00).
There are two separate class groups, each with 15 students. Students
are allowed to work at the guild outside of class hours up to 21 hours
per week. Lab hours
will be set each semester and remain consistant throughout the semester.
Wait
List
There is a wait list for Potters Guild classes of about one year. It
is very helpful to have basic pottery skills and some experience to
fully benefit from instruction at the Guild. While one is waiting for
a position in a Potters Guild class, we suggest enrolling in other pottery
classes from organizations such as the Ann
Arbor Art Center, Kay
Yourist in Ann Arbor, or Two
Twelve Arts Center in Saline, the Village
Potters Guild in Plymouth, the Greater
Lansing Potters Guild, or Pewabic
Pottery in Detroit.
Fees
The current fee for classes is $340 per semester (fees are subject to
change without notice.) This includes not only instruction but clay,
glaze materials, kiln firing space and scheduled lab hours.
How
to Apply
If you are interested in taking classes, please come by the Guild to
talk with a member and see our facilities. At that time, you can fill
out an application indicating your ceramic interests and experience.
For your
convenience, you may print this application and bring it with you.
Your completed application will be placed on file with the registrar
in the order that it was received. When an opening becomes available,
you will be notified.
